Now, this is what I call a superb movie! After being tortured by KANK, this is a real treat. Though, the thing which disappointed was lack of interest of movie-freaks for the movie. I got the ticket, with so, ease… and one whole block of seats was vacant, the first day itself! All the more lack of female audience for a movie, concentrated to the female power! Ridiculous!

I’d curse Cash (the movie) for this… People consider, it as a real crap movie… So, if anybody watched it, they might have lost interest in movies and can’t even imagine how good Chak De! India can be…

Anyways, I hope, it picks up in first week by gathering attention of the movie-freaks as, most of the critics have appraised the movie. Average rating is, ****/*****

There ain’t a single boring moment in the whole movie so, you won’t even feel a nail under your seat (if there is any, ;)). In KANK, even there wasn’t any nail under my seat but, I could feel the pain!!

Why I am digging graves by referring KANK? Ahh.. well, it was a SRK movie and had parts of sports in it… Wish, they extended that movie with matter of sports. But, who’ll suggest Mr. Johar!

Anyways, to the present now, i.e. Chak De! India or, CDI. I won’t spoil the suspense but, I’d give out a lil plot outline and my usual rants….

Shahrukh Khan (SRK, hence forth) plays a role of Kabir Khan, a hockey player (Captain, Indian Men’s Hockey Team), who kept himself, his success (actually, he wished to score the goal) before the team, unluckily… a wrong shot and, his team looses the game. Later the evil media-man (media, the mirror of society) just for a few bucks (which he earns for making news) shot, a photograph in such an angle, that made people feel SRK, fixed the game and intentionally lost. Later, the annoying media-men with the big-microphones annoyed, the disappointed player. Hey, Hey, why did you fix the match and blah, blah…. This made, annoy SRK and had a fight with the annoying media-man, who is Aaj Tak’s correspondent.. HA.. HA… HA.. Now, I understand, why they get hit by people, very often…

Just, when money making motive, the TRPs, become the prime cause, than showing truth to society. How, dumb of Aaj Tak to sponsor that scene under their name! Morons…. Aah… what’s wrong in that, they’re in fact like that…. Annoy, innocent to death… give their bloody opinions, when not needed. Playing, the role of media, the simple mirror of the society they’re just to show the story and not become the mirror of Cinderella’s step-mom and give their opinions.

I hope, by watching this movie, the media-men become a little human and just for few bucks and fame don’t plot story of their own and spoil life, damage career and relationships of a person.

Back to the movie…. due to just one loss, one mistake and one photograph, whole life of a good hockey player is spoilt. His, friendly neighbours become is enemies, consider him gaddar (un-patriot) so, he has the leave the colony and lead seven years in exile.

He, returns to apply as, a coach for Indian Women’s Hockey Team, for whom, no one has any interest, nor the federation, nor the public, nor the media (no TRP no, interest, they can show Sadhu Babas dancing rather than caring for nation’s game)….. As, the fed has no one to employ, they let SRK do, the job….

Just months before the World Cup, the regional disparities, the egos of the players are a great issue to sort out….

Can Kabir Khan, sort all this out, bring the team in discipline, make the players play for the country, the team than themselves and regain his lost glory?? Well, you gotta watch the movie, in a theatre and theatre only! No, pirated discs, please! Why??

1. The quality is sick, you may have eye-sight, hearing problem later and your disc-player may have issues.
2. Some parts gets missed out.
3. It’s illegal.
4. You aren’t supporting the hard-work of the makers.
5. You might find yourself dumb to cheer all alone..

All, the more it is great fun to shout out loud, whistle along, with all the freaks!

Great moments/ dialogues, as per me, in the movie..
1. The McDonald’s brawl where girls have a fight with boys, maara-maari! Yeahhh!

When, a boys tries to attack a girl from back, with a bat.. SRK pushes him and suggests -

Mard ho… ladna hai… to samne se hamla karo… peeche se nahin… kyunki… woh kya ha na… hamari hockey mein chhakke nahin hotey!!

[If you are a man, and wanna fight, then attack from front, not from back, as, in our hockey, there aren’t sixers (hermaphrodites)]

This was real funny.

2. Girls coming out in sarees, the night before finals.

3. Finally when, Komal removes her ego issues with Priti and passes the ball when, no one expected it…. Aussie Coach’s shouts and final reaction was funny!

From the McDonald’s brawl, before the interval to the end of the movie, people would be shouting like freaks every 5 minutes on an average! LOL, everybody acted as, it was live….

Pros of the movie:
1. Lack of songs, total 3… one song played twice… So, in all 4. So, you may not be able to go to toilet until intermission or the end of the movie.
2. Not a single moment when, you can find your seat uncomfortable.
3. Equal weightage to SRK and galz… no one eats out other’s part.
4. Proper attention to almost every girl.
5. Risk staked, in making a out-of-leak movie on a subject, which was disregarded by all the film-makers of India. Kudos, to Yash Raj Films for making such, a movie after over-load of romantic movies…
6. Equally funny and emotional (though, negligible rona-dhona) movie.

Cons of the movie:
1. Lack of people’s interest until now.

So, guys and galz, who haven’t yet, watched the movies, after reading great reviews, all around, what are you waiting for?? Go on and do watch it… something, I can guarantee is, the ticket price would be worth it!

Galz, you should watch the movie at, any cost…. as, this is specially dedicated to you all…
