A quick take on the poll results
Okay, here’s the political side of me.. trying my best to be politically and factually correct.. But, anyways that’s my opinion..
and who cares.. :p
Today we saw the results of Indian general Elections, 2009/ 15th Lok Sabha elections where United Progressive Alliance (UPA) won with Indian National Congress’ (INC) best since, 1991. These results will certainly, rather hopefully teach lots of lessons to the loosers, like the Tricky Third Fronts, Funny Fourth Fronters, N00bish National Democratic Alliance (NDA) - Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) basically.
I don’t see this is as a win for UPA/ Congress for their policies during the past five years, I rather find it as loss of opposition for lack of picking of correct matters in correct way, which paved path for UPA/ INC’s victory.
What I could possibly see the reasons for their losses -
1. The Lefts/ Third Front -
-> Their continuous troublesome attitude during their support to UPA.. though, they were nice to fight for fuels prices hikes.
-> They made UPA hero in front of people, and a fool of themselves by pulling in support from, a (sort of) stable government with regards to the nuke deal, unable to properly make people understand their logic.
-> The troublesome Tata Nano’s Singur plant issue, where Left (socialist) tried to go right (capitalist), where Mamta Banerjee got left (socialist) instead of her right (capitalist) stance, which eventually left (remaining), Left (wing) wrong..
Getting me, eh?
-> People didn’t knew whom they are actually voting in for as Prime-Minister, nor their strategies were clear to people..
2. Fourth Front -
-> I don’t think they deserve more than one line here, still giving them two, it is high time for people to understand India is not what it used to be back then.. India now needs real development and not some actors who try to act secular by actually trying to lure certain segment of India,
-> Taking credit for work actually done by fresh work force on governmental departments.. if it was a task for a minister to fix up whole department, why wasn’t he given more departments to fix?
3. National Democratic Alliance/ Bharatiya Janata Party-
This election should hopefully teach BJP, what they possibly didn’t understand from the losses of 2004 elections..
-> The Temple Raga - People now prefer the Karma than Bhakti to attain Moksha, so… gotta the offerings now.. We already have got of lots of religious places to block the traffic/ to make people fight/ steal chappals ;), but not adequate number of decent institutions to develop new ideas for better country.. Maybe promising that next time will help..
-> Along with the above, I didn’t quite like their manifesto, for instances -
- Creation of new states… okay, there already plenty states and majority of the new states formed in recent times resulted no good. More states means more legislative elections, and hence more expenses..
I feel if there was just one election to decide for governments of states, eventually deciding for the central goverment, it could cut down a lot of expenses and spending of valuable time, which could be utilised to sleep..
- Waiving of loans of farmers and granting of new loans at low rates.. c’mon again loan?? why loan man? why not promise better irrigation, storage and transport facilities? and not just hollow promises, but actually having plans to do it.
-> Then, projecting certain segments of population in certain regions by certain candidates.. Well, I understand some people take and follow moral lessons by heart, like - “Those who seek to please everybody, please nobody“.. This certainly works on many occasions, and some part of population do like this kind of politics due to their hatred against certain segment.. But, that’s not the tale all over the country.. So, as times have changed “Try pleasing everybody and you shalt please the majority..”
-> Not actually working on the correct points with much effort.
-> Not being a mature opposition and questioning the reigning side.
As a concluding para, regarding few visits by Rahul Gandhi to poor villagers houses, or rather say huts.. were mocked by certain politicians saying he was faking.. C’mon at least he faked, what did YOU do? cut enormous birthday cakes by torturing/ killing people? You are not even faking emotions..
All the more the Nehru-Gandhi family members will always have favourable sentiments for them, from lots of people, they’re like the Royal Family of India..
Such informal visits by other parties too might have helped them, as people still crave for informal touch, love and concern..
If someone gives such love, and concern, they can give their lives and take as well.. when they’re being misguided by some so called Holy Warriors.. so, what’s in a vote?
This time, atleast, we got a stable government and hopefully their would be good and mature politics next time. I’ll probably have a job by then..
This time, we won’t have people to help us from price hikes.. that’s sad..
Thanks for reading..
None of the things from this post should be used to confer my political stance, I like certain features/ ideologies/ policies of certain party and dislike some of them, i.e. don’t think I like INC, BJP, Left, TMC, or anyone.. I have left a lots of things to readers to understand themselves (I don’t want someone stalking me with a dagger ;)) , which hopefully should be easy to understand if they are kinda regular to news..
If anyone reads this, comments are always welcome…
